❓ Frequently Asked Questions
While humpback whales are wild animals and we cannot 100% guarantee their behavior, Samaná Bay has one of the highest concentrations of whales in the world during the winter season. Sightings are extremely common and highly probable on every trip.
The waters in Samaná Bay can sometimes be choppy depending on the wind. If you are prone to motion sickness, we highly recommend taking preventative medication before arriving at the dock.
Bring a light jacket or windbreaker (it can get breezy on the boat), sunglasses, a hat, and eco-friendly sunscreen. Most importantly, don't forget your camera or binoculars to get the best views of the whales!
